The Katz Design Group is located in Brunei
Darussalam, on the Land Below the Wind side of
the island of Borneo. And thanks to the ease of the Internet,
they might as well be in the office next door. They also work
out of the United Kingdom as well as the US of A, with an international
mix of employees from the US, Brunei, China, Ireland and Malaysia.
The Katz<i> Design Group specializes in developing both
print and digital media solutions for corporate, educational and
entertainment enterprises. The client list includes: the British
High Commission, British Council, CfBT, Main House, TotalFinaElf,
Brunei Shell, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, MVisions, Brunei Music
Society, SunSuria MicroSystems, to name just a few.
They say two heads are better than one and on that I can certainly
concur. Catherine Morley (Cat), Founder of the Katz Design Group,
is one of my collaborators on various projects and provides an
alternate perspective during the design process. Working as an
independent graphic design consultant can be isolating at times,
but thanks to Cat, a smart second opinion is never far away.
She brings to the table an excellent design ability, combined
with strong project management skills, and a sensitivity to the
cross-cultural implications of a design. Pick a corner of the
globe and its likely Cats lived there, or at least
visited. A designers work, and their ability to solve a
communications challenge, is often based in their life experiences
and their breadth of knowledge. Its often what we pull from
to find the right solution. Given that, she has more than an abundant
supply. Make no mistake - although Cat may appear to be a feisty
blonde haired, blue-eyed lass, this designer is a first-class
citizen of the world.
For relaxation, Cat plays with watercolor, mixed media, pencil,
and the occasional sculpture. You can see a selection at the gallery
on the Katz site. She is also an avid gardener (from whom I could
learn a trick or two) and, from what I hear, an avid Bridge player.

Thanks Cat!
